After many months of chewing my lip and my fingernails and the end of my braid as I considered, I finally made the plunge to upgrade to Weebly's Business Plan. I can't give a solid review of the plan yet, but I can explain why I decided to do this--and where you can get some free e-commerce options if the upgrade is too pricey. |

MEMBERSHIP SITE
I want to be ready for volume when it hits, so I wanted the ability for a customer to complete registration and enter the Member Site all on his own time, not mine.
E-COMMERCE CAPABILITIES
(Operative words: Right now. I have devious plans. Teeheehee... Yaasha, shut up. Don't give the secrets all away! Ahem...)
So, what features does this store offer me? Well, I can:
- Categorize my products using various modes (I currently have short stories, novelettes, and collections/anthologies)
- Offer coupons and discounts for my products, using percentages or dollar figure, to start and/or end at specific times, to be offered in a limited or unlimited number, to apply to specific categories or orders of over a specific amount, etc.
- Sell both digital & physical goods
- Sell through Paypal, Stripe, Square, Authorize.Net
- Sell on my website through the one free SSL license offered
- Accept payments in a Avariety of currencies
- Indicate weights of both imperial and metric units (for physical products)
- Include notes for return/shipping policies
- Allow the buyer to write a note to the seller
- Adjust shipping rates based off location (for physical products)
- Factor in any applicable taxes
- Send e-mails confirming the order, confirming shipment or download, and confirming a refund or cancellation
- Add Google Analytics Tracking pixels or tags to specific pages
(Review on POWr coming soon. It's my new favorite tool!)
So if you can't afford the Weebly Business Plan (the upgrade for 2 years cost me $20/mo or a lump sum of $469) I'd highly recommend POWr. Tons of the features are free, and an upgrade isn't much if you decide you want to get more spiffy.
