This post is linked on the Building an Audience page under the "Plugins, Tools, and Widgets" tab. I don't even remember how I ran across POWr, but ever since I've tried their easy-peasy plugins, I've been really happy. Want a plugin to gather reviews? To set up an e-store for both digital and physical products? To gather e-mail addresses for a list? To display your social media feeds? To count down to an important event? POWr can do it.
The idea of building a website used to scare the heck out of me. It seemed so technological and unreachable, and I despaired of ever having such a thing as my own website. Then a co-worker told me about Weebly and I tried it out. The format was super easy: all you do is click-and-drag the elements onto the page, and voila! A website!
Well, sort of. The ease of building a website didn't change the fact that if you had NO CLUE how a website's visual layout affected a visitor's perception of you and your product, your website would still fail to convert (get people to buy). Let me explain what I mean.
This morning I sat down at my computer and thought, "I really wish I knew how to do that expand-collapse thingy on my website."
(Note: I may be a total freak about proper writing, but I don't give a hoot about grammar or syntax when I'm thinking.) Hopefully you know what I'm talking about, but in case you don't, I'll illustrate it for you. |
